Have been sojourned in Guilin as a visitor for almost three years, I’ve discovered its changing beauty in different seasons, and what impresses me most is the Li River in misty rain, which really touches me a lot and stimulates me to go after some beautiful things in my life.

Guilin Scenery in Mistry Rain

Guilin Scenery in Mistry Rain

The winter in Guilin is very different from that in North China, which is characterized by humid and windy. Of course, the unexpected rain is very common in Guilin during winter owing to its mountainous topography, so don’t bother to complain. Actually, you’ll find that the air is much fresher and the mountains are lovelier in Guilin than ever in a rainy morning, and Guilin is much more charming when it takes shower in the rain, just like a veiled shy lady opening its full arms to welcome visitors from all over the world.

I used to get up early in the morning on weekends, especially in a rainy day, and then I just walk to Jiefang Bridge with an umbrella in hands, watching the busy people passing across the street: some walk hastily in red raincoats, some driver cars and some are in motorcycle, while some who just stop and appreciate the fine views along Li River banks come into my view. I always think to myself: “Why do people pass the bridge in such a hurry? Don’t they know that they live in such an amazing city? Why not they slow down their footsteps and catch a glimpse of the beauty before their eyes?” Standing on Jiefang Bridge and looking southward, you will see that the magnificent Elephant Trunk Hill reveals its beauty in the misty rain, just like a real elephant drinking clear water from the Li River, and a white pagoda stands on the top of the hill; watching northward, you will see that the indistinct profile of Fubo Hill appears within your horizon, which is just like an island in a far-away wonderland; observing eastward, you will see that seven peaks in Seven-Star Park partly hidden and partly visible, which are just like loyal soldiers, guarding the holy land for thousands of years; looking eastward, you can find that a road stretches into distance, on both sides of which stand rows of shops in silence, narrating how the city changes in the recent years.

If you care enough for the scenery along Jiefang Bridge in Guilin, you can always find some people swimming in the misty Li River in the morning. Cold as it is, the swimmers really enjoy themselves in the river. Of course, more potential beauty of Guilin in misty rain remains to be explored, so you are advised to slow down your footsteps to fully appreciate Guilin’s charm during your visit to the city.

This weekend, my colleague and I, climb the highest Mountain in city area, Guilin- Mt Yao, which is located in theeastern suburbs of Guilin, 8 kilometers from downtown area. There are two methods to visit Mt Yao: cable car round way or just on foot.

This morning, we get up very early and start to our climbing. It is always a little bit cold in autumn Guilin. while climbing, the fresh air is oncoming, which makes we feel very relax, comfortable and energetic. On the hillside, you could see the yellow-greentree all over the mountains and plains. Yes, it comes to autumn, and I think it is another kind of beauty. We like it very much since you can not experience the power of nature in the bustling urbanism.

The beautiful of Mt Yao Top of Mt

When we creeping into the Mountain, the visitors, on the top of our head riding the cable car, shout “hello” to us, then we look up and wave our hand to them. Guilin citizens are friendly to any one who visit here.

Cable car Buddha on the top

On the top of Mt Yao, you could see many golden Buddha. They represent rich Buddha culture.

Mt Yao isone of the famous landscape in Guilin’s tourist destinations. It not only has amazing scenery, but also the first class facility and service. I’m sure you will “WOW” about it.
